Course Overview:
You will learn how the complete accounting cycle including asset, liability and capital accounts, double-entry bookkeeping, journals and ledgers. You will also learn how to record transactions, calculate payroll, and how to complete the general ledger and the financial statements.
You will also learn how to handle the typical accounting issues and problems of small to mid-size organizations. These include year-end adjusting entries, how to set up accounting and record-keeping systems, cash versus accrual-basis accounting, and how to remove non-business transactions from the accounting records. You will also learn how to handle the specific accounting requirements of certain types of businesses, including small contractors and nonprofit organizations. In addition, you will do many hands-on projects based exercises, problems, and simulations to reinforce your knowledge and skills.
In our hands-on computer training sessions, you will learn how to use Microsoft Excel, which is one of the most widely-used computer programs in business. You will also learn how to use QuickBooks Online and Desktop version, the most popular accounting software program for small and mid-sized organizations. In addition, you will have the to learn how to use Microsoft Outlook software. Plus, you will get a chance to reinforce your skills in keyboarding to improve your 10 keys skills to ensure that you can tackle a wide range of business assignments efficiently and accurately.
